Pep vows to quit . . . Guardiola vows to quit if ‘things don’t go to plan’ . . . Declares players won’t take Christmas break

PEP GUARDIOLA will step down if it all goes wrong at Manchester City — and chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak knows it.

City’s tough start to the season continued with a 2-0 home defeat by Wolves on Sunday, which leaves them eight points behind leaders Liverpool.

Discussing his close relationship with Khaldoon in new book “Pep’s City: The  Making  of a Superteam”, Guardiola said: “He knows I’d step aside if things weren’t going to plan.

“I’ll give everything to avoid that and make every effort to move things forward. No coasting.”

The book, written with the Spaniard’s full co-operation, also reveals he will impose a Christmas curfew on his players this year.

Guardiola was furious some of his players stayed out partying until dawn at last year’s club bash.

It happened days before their shock 3-2 home defeat to Crystal Palace on December 22, 2018.

He met with his coaching team and decided there will be restrictions on how late they can stay out this time.

The book claims the City players joined staff for the club’s Christmas knees-up at the Great Northern Warehouse.

But some went on to nightclub Chinawhite — with a few staying out until the early hours.

And while most reported for training on time, some had clearly overdone it — and Guardiola was fuming.

He told them: “No more fines. Now, if you mess up you spin the wheel and find out what you have to do to compensate the team.”

Punishments include helping kitmen, groundsmen, analysts and kitchen staff — while Benjamin Mendy has had several stints in the club laundry room.
