The “Perfect Match” movie première that was held under Girlfriends Getaway brand recently at Westage and Eastgate Ster Kinekor theatres lived up to its billing as a huge turnout of women was recorded. The première saw award-winning songstress Cynthia Mare performing some of her hit songs while upcoming dance group Sesfikile wowed the crowd with their energetic moves. The show was held under the theme ‘Love’ in line with the movie and ladies had a short tutorial on how to find perfect match in their life by renowned speaker Felix Zinhara (Dr Love).

In an interview Eastgate Ster Kinekor complex manager Dexter Nyikayaramba said he was happy with how Zimbabweans are embracing premieres at the cinemas.

He said the Girlfriends Getaway is here to stay.

“We are happy with how now many people are believing in premières. Girlfriends getaway is an event that we do every quarter to reward our biggest customers and we target women of all ages. We provide treats that woman go crazy about.

This time we partnered with a make -up company Black Opal. We gave goodie bags to all ladies that came and they received chocolates, perfume testers from Givenchy and J’adore, magazines from Out of Africa, lipstick and foundation from Black Opal and Lux products,” he said.

Nyikayaramba said they also conducted a free makeover courtesy of Black Opal.

“We had competitions and some lucky ladies walked away with hampers and vouchers which included Givenchy perfume, massage at Skin Bar and make up kits. Black Opal had a makeover on some ladies before the screening of the movie,” he said.

He said the premières are helping to bring back the love and anxiety for movies.

“To promote movies and bring back the audience we have upgraded our equipment to high modern standards that you find in any top African cinemas. We are now offering the latest movies as premièred world-wide and all events will be under red carpet spotlight,” he said.
