A 32-year-old Mbizo man has swapped the comfort of his family home for the cold walls of a prison cell after his stomach-churning “love” for his own niece backfired.
The predator was slapped with a 4 month jail term by the Kwekwe Magistrates’ Court for indecently assaulting the 15 year old girl.
The court heard that the uncle, who was supposed to be the girl’s protector while living under the same roof, turned into a monster in December 2025. He pounced on the helpless minor while she was alone in her room, touching and kissing her against her will.
The victim did not take the abuse lying down. She resisted the pervert’s advances and spilled the beans to relatives.
In a classic case of a criminal digging his own grave, the uncle sent a WhatsApp voice note attempting to justify his actions and apologise. That digital confession became the smoking gun that nailed him in court.
The National Prosecuting Authority (NPAZ) has slammed the behaviour, reminding the public that blood ties are not a license for lechery.
“Any form of sexual abuse against a child is a serious crime. Family relationships do not excuse criminal conduct. Communities must remain vigilant and protect minors at all times,” the NPAZ said.
