WHAWHA coach, Luke Petros, remains defiant the club will survive the chop this season despite their precarious position in the relegation zone.

Petros told H-Metro, on the sidelines of the Boss Gina sports tournament held at the Chinhoyi University of Technology sports arena on Sunday, his men will survive the chop.

The tournament was sponsored by Partson Choto, popularly known as Boss Gina.

He said the club were showing signs of improvement.

“If you look at the points that we have been accumulating, especially towards the end of the first half of the season, it is a sign that we are trying to rise and fight relegation,” said Petros.

“One thing that I can really assure the fans is that Whawha won’t be relegated,” he added.

Petros said he was banking on the youngsters he has at his disposal and believes the fans will roar them to safety.

“We are going to work hard, with your support, and we will manage to survive relegation,” said Petros.

“I am taking advantage of the break to make sure that we enhance the recruitment that we want to boost our team.

“I am looking for a bit of experience which I hope to have in key areas like goalkeeping, defence and strike force.

If I can get two or four players, that would be very good for us.”

He said he was very thankful to his employers for their unwavering support.

“I have been getting maximum support from my employers. They are trying to the best of their ability.

“I am very thankful for the little they are giving us, due to financial constraints being faced by so many clubs in the league.”
