Ronaldo, 41, could never play for his nation again after his dramatic falling out with Jesus, who he also worked with at Al-Nassr.
Jesus reportedly went back on his promises to Ronaldo regarding playing arrangements over the international break before the country’s record appearance- maker and goalscorer returned home.
The former Manchester United ace was left as an unused sub against Norway despite being asked to warm up.
Taking to social media, Ronaldo said he would speak publicly about the events of the rift in “due time”.
SunSport columnist and TalkTV host Morgan was the man Ronaldo turned to for a bombshell interview when he quit Manchester United.
That interview ended up being a massive attack against the club’s stagnation and manager Erik ten Hag, who had relegated Ronaldo to the bench.
And Morgan, 61, now reckons Jesus is doing the same, and lifted the lid on what he understood to have caused the problems between them.
Speaking on his Piers Morgan Uncensored show, he started off by bringing up a quote from Carlo Ancelotti when talking about Luka Modric, where he said you don’t warm up a player of that stature and not bring him on.
Morgan compared it to the current Ronaldo case, saying: “It’s nothing to do with money, fame or any of those things. He was given absolute guarantees about how he would be used.
Morgan continued: “Then he goes to Ronaldo and says, ‘I know we would rest you the second two games but I want you for 30 minutes against Norway, and he goes, ‘Okay, if that’s what you want I’ll do it.’Morgan added: TalkSPORT pundit and former Crystal Palace owner Simon Jordan countered Morgan’s arguments by saying he was “being subjective because of your admiration for Ronaldo”.
Sky Sports reporter, Kaveh Solhekol, also argued Morgan would take Mikel Arteta‘s side if it was the same story with an Arsenal player.
Morgan also explained, perhaps despite the popular belief, Ronaldo “doesn’t believe” he should be a guaranteed starter for Portugal in every game.
Ronaldo has since returned to Al-Nassr training, reposting a picture of himself in the club’s colours from their Instagram page.
