PIGORS TO ROT IN PRISON: Bulawayo drug dealer gets 8-year sentence

A BULAWAYO drug peddler, Tyron Siegfried Pigors (39) of Matsheumhlophe, will rot behind bars after the Regional Court slapped him with five years effective jail time for dealing in crystal meth.

Pigors was nabbed ON 6 March when police, acting on a tip-off, raided his leafy suburb home and uncovered a US$6 000 meth empire hidden in some of the most unlikely places.

Detectives dug out satchets of the dangerous drug stashed in a fake dictionary safe box under his bed, a biscuit tin, and even a Puma shoe box buried in a trunk. Officers also seized two digital scales and a kitchen scale — clear proof of a thriving trade.

Magistrate Sibonginkosi Mkandla, ZBC News reports, declared Pigors a menace to society and slammed him with eight years in prison, three of which were suspended for good behaviour.

That leaves Pigors with a solid five-year stretch to think about the havoc crystal meth is wreaking on Zimbabwean communities.

His arrest is seen as another strike in the war against the drug plague destroying youths and families across the city.
