Pipeline burst disrupts water supply

A MAJOR burst on the Dangamvura water pipeline has resulted in several suburbs in Mutare experiencing disrupted supply, with repair works scheduled for today.
In a notice to the public, City of Mutare said eight suburbs will be affected.
“Notice is hereby given that we have recorded a major water burst. The burst occurred on the 450mm Dangamvura water pipeline at Golden Peacock Hotel. Repair works are scheduled for the June 18. As a result, water supply will be disrupted in the following areas: Mountainrise, Chikanga Extension, Zimta, Bernwin, Dreamhouse, Natview, Hobhouse and Dangamvura,” reads the notice.
The local authority said normal water supply is expected to be restored after completion of the repair works.
“Water bowsers will be provided to complement water supply in these areas. All customers in the affected areas are advised to use water sparingly until normal supply is restored,” added City of Mutare.
