THE Manica Post journalists, Liberty Dube and Nyasha Chawatama, raised the publication’s flag high after scooping top honours at the National Journalism and Media Awards (NJAMA) held in Harare this evening.
Dube was among the biggest winners of the night, walking away with two prestigious accolades — the Tourism Journalist of the Year and Arts and Entertainment Journalist of the Year awards — in recognition of his outstanding work in the two fields.
The double victory marked a remarkable achievement for the seasoned journalist, whose storytelling continues to spotlight Manicaland’s tourism potential, cultural heritage and vibrant entertainment scene.
His success in both categories underscored his versatility and commitment to telling compelling stories that celebrate the province while informing and engaging readers.
Chawatama also made the publication proud after scooping the Photos/Visuals Journalist of the Year award.
The talented photojournalist has continued to capture powerful moments through his lens, using visual storytelling to document events, tell compelling stories and connect readers with the issues shaping their communities.
The duo’s success was a proud moment for The Manica Post, demonstrating the publication’s continued contribution to excellence in Zimbabwean journalism.
This year’s awards ceremony was held under the theme, “The Digital Frontier: Journalism, Misinformation and Public Trust”, highlighting the evolving media landscape and the importance of credible, responsible journalism in the digital age.
The NJAMA awards recognise outstanding achievements by journalists and media practitioners across various categories, celebrating excellence, professionalism and the role of the media in informing the public.
