Innocent Muchochomi in Ngezi, Chegutu Pirates 2-1 Bikita Minerals
CHEGUTU Pirates coach Maxwell Takaendesa Jongwe breathed a sigh of relief as his team grabbed a crucial 2-1 victory over fellow relegation fighters Bikita Minerals at Baobab Stadium yesterday.

The Premiership new boys ended a winless run stretching 11 games when they overturned the scores in the second-half to keep their slim hopes of surviving the chop alive going into the last five games of the season.
After recovering from an early goal by Tinashe Ruzive, Pirates’ substitute Richard Kumi scored the winning goal in the final minute of the match, following Tinotenda Ditima’s equaliser in the second-half.
Jongwe, who secured his first win since taking over as Pirates head coach, rushed to the fans to express his gratitude for their unwavering support through thick and thin.
“I cannot believe the relief I have. I am very thankful to our loyal fans, they have been a source of inspiration,” Jongwe said.
“We have been playing an entertaining brand of soccer, but the desired results were not coming our way. The good thing is we were creating chances, and eventually, a win has finally materialised.”
