Pitch waterlogged, CSL matches postponed

ASCOT Stadium in Gweru was waterlogged at the weekend resulting in the postponement of a Zifa Central Soccer League (CSL) match pitting Gweru United and ZPC Munyati.

The pitch was drenched after a council employee reportedly forgot to close water valves at the stadium when knocking off.

The Vumbachikwe and Jessie Mine game was also deferred after the two clubs were notified of the fixture at short notice. Ivan Hoe did not turn up for their scheduled game against Blanket Mine.

Midlands State University returned their campaign on track by walloping Nichrut 3-1 at the university campus in Gweru, while Shabanie Mine maintained their fine run with a 2-0 win over Chrome Stars to power to the top of the table.

FC Platinum Under-19 were the biggest winners of the weekend after hammering ZRP Beitbridge 4-0.
