Platinum close in on Sadiki

FC PLATINUM are closing in on winger Ali Sadiki with the 30-year-old set to seal a reunion with his old club.

Sadiki is set to return home from the Democratic Republic of Congo giants where he has struggled to make a big impression at TP Mazembe.

The Zvishavane miners believe he could be the ideal replacement for Talent Chawapiwa who signed a three-year deal with South African Premiership side Baroka.

FC Platinum have been active of late in what has otherwise been a quiet transfer window. Dynamos chairman Kenny Mubaiwa said they were waiting for advice from coach Lloyd Mutasa who has been on national duty in the past three weeks.

“We haven’t done any deal so far. We are waiting for the coach although there are some players training with us. We have departments where we were using makeshift players and we might need cushioning. “Our chief sponsors BancABC are only responsible for salaries. They don’t give us money for signing-on fees and it means we must set aside a budget for that,” he said.

Harare City coach Philani “Beefy” Ncube said he still hasn’t decided on whether to plunge into the market. “I need at least a week to decide on my resources. I haven’t signed anyone so far but I will be adding one or two players. We might consider promoting juniors from our Division One team but it won’t be a huge spending deal,” Ncube said.

Highlanders are likely to miss the services of Honest Moyo and Prince Dube but there are no concrete plans from the Bulawayo giants on reinforcing their squad. Moyo has been linked with Orlando Pirates while Dube could be on his way to Ajax Cape Town.

Bosso have also parted ways with Manuel Obiang Esono Buale of Equatorial Guinea with the striker not even getting a chance to play due to work permit complications. CAPS United chief executive, Cuthbert Chitima, said they have not made a decision yet on altering their squad.
