Moreblessing Ncube
LOVE triangles are dangerous in Ntabazinduna and one man is now begging the justice system to do him a favour and remove his rival from circulation so he can enjoy quality time with his girlfriend.
Shepherd Ncube (34) of Luthi Bhekani, got himself in the dock after he allegedly turned into a midnight lumberjack and struck another man with an axe during a fight over a girl. He appeared before Bulawayo magistrate Taurai Man were charged with attempted murder. He was remanded in custody until 20 November.
According to prosecutor Nomthandazo Mafu, Ncube lost his marbles on 24 September around 1AM at Stand 188 in Mahaja Line. Moses Shumba was simply taking a romantic stroll with his girlfriend, Happiness Ndlovu, after she opened her window to him like a low budget Romeo and Juliet. The two lovebirds were heading towards his homestead, minding their own business, when Ncube pounced.
Instead of greeting the couple or perhaps discussing his feelings like a normal villager, Ncube allegedly swung a hunting torch into Shumba’s face then followed it up with an even more dramatic axe blow to the forehead. Shumba dropped like a sack of potatoes, sustaining deep cuts to the head and needing urgent hospital treatment.
In court, Shumba narrated the attack but what stunned everyone was his closing wish. He boldly told the presiding lawyer that he wanted Ncube sentenced to three full years behind bars so he could spend uninterrupted time with Happiness.
At least someone in this triangle has priorities straight . . .
In Mahaja Line, love can get you a torch to the face, an axe to the skull, and apparently a heartfelt plea for your imprisonment.
