Plumtree duo nabbed for beating dogs

Two men have appeared in court facing one count of malicious damage to property and one count of unlawful entry into premises.

Sidoli Moyo (72) and Emmanuel Tshuma (48) recently appeared before Plumtree magistrate Joshua Nembaware. They pleaded not guilty and were remanded to 30 September on US$20 bail.

Circumstances are that on 8 September 2024 at around 1100 hours the accused persons together with nine others who are still at large went to Matata grazing lands and proceeded to the complainant Gadzanani Dube’s farmhouse in the Madlambuzi area.

Upon arrival, they attacked the two greyhound dogs which stayed at the farmhouse using unknown objects. They injured the two dogs all over their bodies leading to the other two greyhounds missing.

It was further heard that at the farmhouse, the accused persons together with nine others who are still at large stole an iron brand mark and some livestock ear tags.

The matter was reported to the police leading to the arrest of the accused persons.
