FORMER Highlanders, Hwange and Eagles goalkeeper and now development coach, Johannes Tshuma, has been relieved of his duties as head coach of Plumtree Wanderers FC.
Tshuma was shown the door last week. He joined the ambitious Zifa Division Two side in November last year.
“Plumtree Wanderers FC would like to notify the football fraternity that the club has parted ways with Johannes Masambo Tshuma as the head coach. The decision was brought about by the need for all members of the executive committee and technical members, to uphold good sportsmanship and respect club policies in the discharge of their duties. The club would like to thank Mr Tshuma for the services he rendered to the club during his tenure,” said the club director, Menzies Manka.
Fundani Nkomo has been roped in as the interim coach. Other changes that were made at the club are that of Wellington Mzila, who comes in as club chairman. Mzila is a teacher at Zimnyama Primary School in Plumtree. Thokozani Ncube is now the club secretary-general. Msindisi Dube, a Plumtree Hospital employee, is the new team manager. Christine Dube comes in as the team medic while Lungani Sibanda will take the role of kit manager.
“As a growing club, we found it necessary to inform the public, stakeholders and our supporters of some of the changes at the club. We believe that football starts from the office, thus it was necessary to make the right appointments, for the growth of the club,” added Manka.
