PM Tsvangirai finally sees the light

Also this makes China the only developing nation in the entire world to occupy this economic niche in the history of global economic activity. The Chinese economy, termed by the gurus as a “miracle economy”, has attained this level of development notwithstanding the impediments placed before it by its running wars in the 19th century with Japan aided by the West and the US and lately by the resistance by the latter for China’s membership to the World Trade Organisation (WTO).

As the 1990 to 2000 decade was drawing to an end the pundits of world economies began to predict that China’s economy would be a major player in global economics. Only those who could not see or who refused to see, such as the US and Europe refused to heed what was patently obvious even by a layman’s standards.

It has also dawned on puppet MDC-T’s leadership that by remaining aloof (and even opposing) the indigenisation programme, the boat will depart without its supporters and that nobody will miss them.

And so the party has finally plucked some courage and advised its youth to queue up with the rest of us.

Welcome on board the economic transformation and black empowerment boat, comrades (even though you resent the term, you are comrades nevertheless!) MDC-T has also woken up, albeit a trifle too late, to the fact the one-million-and-one NGOs it has been bedding with have led it down the proverbial garden path. The alliance has been simply and purely one of convenience. That is the long and short of it.

MDC-T’s incestuous relationship with NGOs since its inception has not been of any benefit to the party. The party is still a green horn. It has no political maturity, thanks to the influence (a negative influence) exerted on it by foreign-funded NGOs. This is on the one hand; on the other hand Zanu-PF boasts of an authentic raison d-etre which it deems appropriate in defence of Zimbabwe’s sovereignty and independence and the preservation of the latter in the realisation of democracy and the enjoyment of human rights by all Zimbabweans regardless of race, tribe, religions or culture.

One does not necessarily have to be a Zanu-PF supporter to acknowledge and respect the role played by Zanu-PF in the attainment of democracy and majority rule in Zimbabwe. It is utter rubbish for some people to churn out the drivel that “. . . Everyone fought for the freedom of this country.” To what degree did we all fight? This utterance, emanating from counter revolutionaries, and the ill-informed pseudo-politicians, is basically and principally designed to undermine Zanu-PF as a liberation war organisation as well as to detract from its achievements. Indeed, like any other organisation engaged in a war, Zanu-PF relied very much on the locals for a myriad things necessary for the execution of a war, especially a guerilla war.

The party also relied, to a much greater extent, on sympathetic and supportive progressive nations of the world chief of which was China, a country which MDC-T and other puppet organisations continue to malign and rubbish at the behest and prodding of the US and EU.

One hopes that if Mr Tsvangirai has a particle of common sense, if he thinks and decides on matters independently of external influence, he has a different and proper perspective of China as a leading economic player in the world; that China employs soft-power in its diplomatic relationship with the world at large; that China had been posting economic growth figures higher than any other country in the world for 15 years running and that China and China alone, is propelling economic growth not only in Africa but in all of the developing world.

China, and please let us be honest with ourselves for once, does not interfere in the internal affairs of other governments. The US and its Western allies feed us with the poisonous and oppressive chaff of “human rights” while China is busy sharing with us meaningful and material democracy and human rights, and we get these from economic growth and empowerment, which is currently the thrust of Zanu-PF as a party.

I am old enough and have participated in politics for goodness-knows-how-long yet I can aver that I have seen, let alone partaken of a meal on the table resulting from political rights. Political rights are too abstract. Economic rights are real. Political rights are a tool of oppression. They are sugar-coated poison.

Where economic rights are present, political and any other forms of human rights are intrinsic. They automatically become an integral part.

Europe and the US supply the world with military hardware while China supplies the world with basic goods, through soft power.

The Chinese are physically present in most developing countries while the West and the US are represented by NGOs and or other soldiers and military hardware. They impose on weaker nations their version of human rights, with sanctions as a tool of enforcement.

Away from the economic aspect, it is disturbing to note that the GPA is being used in some quarters both in the Sadc region and outside of it to compromise the sovereignty and independence of Zimbabwe. In South Africa some quarters openly refer to this country as their other province. This comes into sharp focus when we look at the reportage and editorial policies of newspapers such as Sunday Times and Mail and Guardian.

Internally, some non-descript political parties which are not even represented in Parliament are demanding that they get into the inclusive Government through the back door.

That is how serious the current imbroglio in Zimbabwe has become. The situation is totally unsustainable.

The only way out of it is a general election.  Sadc, SA and their so-called troika have over-stepped their mark in Zimbabwe’s internal affairs.
