THE Nedbank Premier Netball League are scheduled to hold their final bubble for the 2023 season this weekend with all matches expected to take place at White City stadium in Bulawayo.
The matches will be played over two days.
The previous games were played in clusters at different venues.
But as the league goes into the final games this Saturday and Sunday, they will all be played at one venue and it is promising to be an interesting competition as the 2023 champions will be decided at this bubble.
PNL secretary-general Liberty Mhizha said all is set for the weekend’s games and they are expecting all teams to attend.
“Preparation wise almost every team has confirmed . . . probably this bubble will give us the picture how the whole season transpired as we go towards the awards tentatively proposed for 18 November. This is the final bubble,” said Mhizha.
Defending champions, Platinum Queens are leading the race, followed by GreenFuel and Ngezi Platinum Queens on second and third position respectively.
However, it is a close contest between the log leaders and GreenFuel, and their game is likely to be key in deciding the champions.
“This is netball and anything can happen, a shocker can be brewed . . . Though the race is now between two teams, the ones we are ruling out like Ngezi they may at the end of the day pull a shocker,” Mhizha said.
Some of the teams have outstanding games and they will all be fulfilled this weekend as the league concludes the 2023 season.
