Poetry takes centre stage at Mannenberg

A new arts initiative “Poetry And” was recently launched at the joint to enable the interaction of poets and the audience using a variety of music genres.
The show also looks into the dynamics of poetry with music where every month, six poets and a live band would be featured to entertain poetry lovers.
Some of the performing acts to be featured would include the dazzling act of the upcoming but talented Flo, PSP, D-Bloc, Aerosol, Breeze, Upmost, Fun day and Phar I.
The poets would be backed by a band called Fhilloh that play acoustic, rock, folk and R’n’B depending on the theme of the day.
“We are looking forward to groom poets from different backgrounds who need to showcase their talent in poetry,” said Barbara Anderson the project organiser. Anderson who features in “Poetry And” as Breeze said they have so far hosted three shows and many more are on the way to promoting upcoming poets who need support. She urged the public to support her to ensure that the project would be success. The project will cement the existing relationships between poets and their audiences giving the opportunity for them to express their views at the same time providing entertainment.
