Police appeal for help to identify man killed in Kwekwe road accident

Police in Kwekwe are appealing for assistance to identify a man who died in a road accident along the Harare–Bulawayo highway last month.

Midlands Provincial police spokesperson Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko said the body of a male adult involved in a road traffic accident at the 220 km peg along the Harare–Bulawayo road in Kwekwe on 20 August at around 9:30 pm is currently being held by the police.

“The body has not been claimed and we are appealing to the public to help identify him,” said Insp Mahoko.

The man, he added, was allegedly hit by a motor vehicle while attempting to cross the road and died upon admission at Kwekwe District Hospital. He is estimated to be in his mid-40s.

Police are urging members of the public who may be missing a relative matching this description to contact Kwekwe Traffic Police to assist with identification. For more information, they can reach the Officer in Charge of Kwekwe Traffic, Inspector Mberewere, on 0772 454 839.
