Police arrest Mberengwa ganja farmers in ongoing crackdown

THREE people have been arrested in Mberengwa District in the Midlands for illegally cultivating dagga.
Zvipozvashe Masuku (21) from Machovha Village, Chingoma was taken into custody on 17 March 2024 by Mberengwa police, marking the latest crackdown on illicit substance cultivation in the region

In a separate incident, a father and son from Chandayengwa Village in Marondera, Gift Tauzeni (50) and Josiah Tauzeni (21), were arrested on 15 March 2024 for similar offences.

The police have issued a statement on the matter, which is available for viewing on X.

This development comes as law enforcement agencies intensify efforts to eradicate the cultivation and trade of illicit substances in Zimbabwe. Authorities are stepping up operations to combat illegal drug activities, which pose significant challenges to public health and safety.
