POLICE have dismissed as false a statement circulating on social media alleging that businessman Mr Wicknell Chivayo is wanted in connection with fraud and other criminal activities.

National police spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi reiterated the importance of verifying the authenticity of news before spreading it further.

“It is crucial for the public to exercise caution and refrain from sharing unverified information on social media platforms. False claims can have damaging repercussions, tarnishing the reputation of individuals without merit,” he said.

Comm Nyathi said police remain committed to upholding the truth and ensuring that justice prevails in every situation.

“We stand by our duty to investigate matters thoroughly and provide accurate information to the public. Rest assured, any legitimate concerns regarding criminal activities will be addressed with transparency and integrity,” he said.
