Police have launched a manhunt for a 44-year-old Chitungwiza man wanted in connection with the murder of his 72-year-old mother following a domestic dispute.
The suspect, Bob Nobert Luwaca, is alleged to have struck his mother, Rosemary Luwaca, twice on the head with a six-pound hammer at their home in Unit L, Chitungwiza, on Thursday.
National police spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi said the weapon believed to have been used in the murder was recovered at the scene.
“The suspect fled from the scene after committing the offence,” he said.
Commissioner Nyathi appealed to members of the public with information that may lead to the arrest of the suspect to report to the nearest police station.
