Police intercept dagga shipment at Beitbridge Border

THE Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) have bolstered their deployments at the border town of Beitbridge under the operation, “No to Cross Border Crimes”.

In a statement, the ZRP said that this has resulted in the arrest of Melusi Ngwenga (26) at Dulibadzimu Bus terminus for illegal possession of 16 kilogrammes of dagga.

“The dagga was stashed under packets of chicken cuts inside a cardboard box,” reads the statement.

Meanwhile, on Sunday, police in Feartherstone intercepted a Nissan Note vehicle, registration number AGQ 2446, at a security checkpoint at the 103 kilometer peg along Harare-Masvingo road, with six plastic bags of dagga.

The driver, Tinashe Muronzi (37) and passenger, Anacleter Sibanda (33) were arrested for unlawful possession of dagga.
