POLICE LOOKING FOR VILLAGER WHO STOLE TEN GOATS

POLICE in Chipinge District have launched a manhunt for a villager who allegedly stole 10 goats and slaughtered some while others were recovered from his pen.

Acting Manicaland police spokesperson, Assistant Inspector Wiseman Chinyoka, said they were looking for information leading to the arrest of Raphias Matsika of Gumira Village, under Chief Musikavanhu.

He is wanted in connection with the theft of ten goats belonging to Tsitsi Ngezi.

“On June 27, 2026, at around 7am and at Gumira Village, some residents discovered about ten goats penned at accused person’s homestead.

“Knowing that the accused person does not own goats, a tip-off was made to the police and a raid was carried out at accused person’s homestead.

“Accused person fled from his homestead leaving behind six goats at his homestead. Also found at the scene was carcass of fresh red meat suspected to be that of the other four goats that had been slaughtered.

“The complainant positively identified her goats and reported was made at ZRP Middle Sabi.

“Total value stole is US$300 and US$180 was recovered,” said Asst Insp Chinyoka.
