Police nab four armed robbery suspects

National police spokesperson Chief Superintendent Paul Nyathi yesterday confirmed the arrests and said the suspects had so far cleared 15 robbery cases.

“We confirm that due to a spate of armed robberies which were occurring in Mabvuku, Tafara, Rhodesville, Highlands, Waterfalls especially at Boka Tobacco Auction Floors, Norton and other areas in Harare, we have arrested the four suspects in connection with the cases,” he said. He said officers from Mabvuku Police Station received information last week about the whereabouts of the suspects and raided their hideout.

Chief Supt Nyathi said the four were targeting people walking along footpaths and those coming from beer drinks and stealing cellphones, cash, clothes and other valuables.
