delivery in the force. Speaking at the official opening of the 2013 Police Staff College Academic Year at Morris Depot yesterday, Deputy Commissioner General (Human Resources) Levy Sibanda said officers should learn for the nation not only their personal benefit.
“I would like to urge you all course participants that as you partake your studies, you should be determined not only to succeed in passing your examinations, but do so with the interest of enhancing police service delivery upon graduation.
“You should endeavour to work towards engendering a crime free society, where our peace loving citizens carry out their day-to-day business transactions in a peaceful and tranquil environment,” he said.
Dep Comm-Gen Sibanda said the police should demonstrate an unquestionable love for Zimbabwe and the people.
“It is the responsibility of all of us to contribute towards prosperity and development of the nation. Again, it is the duty of the current generation to ensure the success of the Government’s economic empowerment and indigenisation programme,” he said.
Running under the theme, “ZRP Promoting Patriotism, Empowerment, Professionalism and Total Commitment to the Nation,” the police academic year has seen 111 officers enlisting for three different courses.
The two-year programme will see the students undergoing training in police studies, adult education and senior management development programme.
