Police prepare for the Commissioner General’s sports fiesta

POLICE have started preparations for the annual Commissioner General’s sports with the Matabeleland North Provincial Police 21km road race set for next Saturday in Victoria Falls.

Superintendent Tendayi Antony Mudzomini in charge of sports in the province confirmed the road race.

He said there will be three categories in the event which are the 21 km, 10km and 5km road race.

The race is also open to participants from neighbouring countries in the SADC as well as tourists from overseas who are willing to participate.

The event is aimed at providing wellness and fitness as well as carrier identification within the sporting fraternity of Zimbabwe.

All uniformed forces and members of the public are welcome to this special event where a lot of consolation prizes will be won.

“Participants who wish to compete in this event will be paying US$10 each. The closing date will be Friday at 4pm,” said Supt Mudzomini.

Participants can also register online and at the nearest police station.
