“ZRP Harare Province’s relationship with its community should be promoted through assisting the police with the maintenance of law and order. As citizens of this country, let us be proud to associate with each other in a peaceful environment,” he said.
Snr Asst Comm Munoriyarwa was speaking at the Harare province Service Charter re-launch. Police, he said, would ensure that law and order was maintained during the referendum and election period.
“I am calling for peace and tranquility in the capital during the referendum and the elections. Zimbabwe is a peace-loving nation. Zimbabweans are peace-loving people,” said Snr Asst Comm Munoriyarwa.
He challenged Zimbabweans to join hands in fighting crime and violence.
Police Commissioner-General Augustine Chihuri first launched the Service Charter in 1995 where police made an undertaking to dedicate themselves to providing the nation with the most effective and efficient service.
“Notably, we set ourselves standards of total quality management in service delivery, which specifically define the minimum level of service, which the community should expect from us,” said Snr Asst Comm Munoriyarwa.
Snr Asst Comm Munoriyarwa said fighting crime was a shared responsibility between the force and the public.
