Politburo members deployed to verify Zanu PF cells

ZANU PF will deploy Politburo members this weekend to verify the party’s cells as the revolutionary party oils it’s structures ahead of elections.

Those deployed are Cdes Tshinga Dube-Bulawayo; Charles Tavengwa – Harare; Lovemore Matuke-Masvingo; Patrick Chinamasa-Manicaland; Kenneth Musanhi- Mashonaland Central; Sydney Sekeramai-Mashonaland East; Christopher Mutsvangwa-Mashonaland West; Sithembiso Nyoni-Matabeleland North; Richard Ndlovu-Matabeleland South and Simbarashe Mumbengegwi- Midlands Province.

They will be assisted by members from the Central Committee, national executive, party’s wings, the provincial chairman, the provincial Political Commissar and the provincial Secretary for Security of all the four wings in their respective provinces.

The cell authentication programme will start today and tomorrow Central Committee members will also have  briefing meetings at their deployed constituencies which will also be attended by the National Consultative members, Provincial Executive Committee, District Coordinating Committees, party districts and branch chairpersons.

Zanu PF national Political Commissar Cde Mike Bimha said Politburo members have been deployed as team leaders to supervise the cell verification programme.

“The Commissariat Department wishes to inform provinces that cell and village building and verification will be conducted between the 18th – 25th of February. The provincial chairman should ensure that all members required for these meetings on the 18th and the 19th of February are informed of this important exercise. Party structures must also be informed,” said Cde Bimha.

The actual building of cells and verification will be done by the branch executives, district executives and also cell chairpersons where necessary.

Politburo members, he said, must also make use of this opportunity to inspect and assist with the voter registration exercise.

The Politburo members who have been deployed to the provinces are expected at the party headquarters on Monday to give their reports at a meeting starting at 10am.

“This is an important exercise for two reasons, to fulfil the provision of our constitution in terms of building cells on an annual basis, the authentic of cells that will come out of these exercise will then constitute the voters roll to be used when the party goes into the primary elections as part of the preparations of the upcoming harmonised general elections,” said Cde Bimha.

He urged all party members to ensure that this exercise receive maximum support from every member of the party.
