WHAT has Marvelous Nakamba really got himself into?
His new club Sheffield Wednesday have now gone 25 matches without a win.
The Owls have also made it EIGHT league games without a goal for the first time in 50 years.
The Owls fell to fellow relegation candidates Blackburn Rovers 0-1 on Tuesday evening.
Nakamba did not play in that game after having just arrived at Wednesday a day earlier.
Eiran Cashin’s early goal proved priceless for the hosts.
It was Cashin’s first goal for managerless Blackburn who have also been struggling at the bottom end of the table.
The win also provided a cheer for the former Premiership champions after a turbulent few days that saw manager Valerien Ismael being forced out.
The defeat saw Wednesday equal their longest ever run of league games without a goal.
The only other time it’s happened was back in 1975.
Wednesday remain rooted to the foot of the table on minus seven points and took one step closer to their relegation from the Championship being mathematically confirmed.
They are currently 39 points off 21st place with 48 points left to play for.
Manager Henrik Pedersen said:
“We’re working a lot on the set-up and the build-up,” he told Radio Sheffield afterwards.
“And we’re doing that well, you could see that today, but to create something we need more dribbling, we need to speed up the game, because we cannot play with the same speed of the ball the whole way and expect that we’ll create…
“No, we need to play with risk. We need to play that pass between the centre back and a full back.
“We need the high intensity runs, we need one vs ones and crosses, we need to take those risks. Yes, we can make a mistake, but there’s not really mistakes – there’s only a good repress afterwards.”

Where should Nakamba go? He can only attract the likes of Sheffield Wednesday. This guy has been overrated for far too long and now the chicken have come home to roost. One cannot improve one’s skills by continuing to play in teams that are going down. He must come back home and join N’ombeyaora or Chegutu Pirates. Martin Mapisa played for some 7th tier Spanish team and went nowhere until he came home. Now he can move forward. Age is not on Nakamba’s side.
