Popular bouncer Farai Mukondo who succumbed to severe dysentery was buried at Warren Hills Cemetery over the weekend aged 34. Mukondo was once a bodyguard for most regional and international artistes including Akon, P-Square, Joe Thomas, Brick & Lace, King Sounds, D’Banj as well as Sean Paul when they came to Zimbabwe.
Also a member of an Apostolic sect, Mukondo served as a bouncer for the Harare International Festival of the Arts for the past eight years.
At the time of his death he had been working at the upmarket Pariah State in Avondale together with the likes of Keith Chirimanzi.
“The bouncers fraternity lost one of a rare kind.
“He was a gentleman who was firm, kind and friendly. He was also trustworthy.
“The funny thing is he was a Madzibaba, mupositori but at the same time he worked in clubs,” Chirimanzi said.
Bongai Zamchya of Pariah State said they were saddened by the sudden death of a loyal bouncer who made sure things were in order at the hangout.
Mukondo is survived by his wife and three children.
