LAST Saturday was another memorable day on the circuit for 18-year-old racing sensation Dylan Pragji, who secured another championship win at the Bulawayo Drags finale, ensuring the trophy remains in the City of Kings and Queens.
Pragji, who has consistently demonstrated exceptional skills behind the wheel, clocked the fastest time in front of his home crowd, re-affirming his status as one of the top drivers on the local scene.
Speaking to Zimpapers Sports Hub, the prodigy said the feeling of winning the event was unparalleled, acknowledging the tough competition. However, he was pleased to have kept his composure and secured another victory.
He added that the appreciation from the local racing fans, who flocked to Bulawayo Motoring Club, made the victory even more special. The event drew over 60 cars from across the country, with Spraytech Zimbabwe posing the biggest challenge.

“It feels incredible to win on home ground again and keep the trophy here in Bulawayo, in the City of Kings and Queens. The event was both challenging and nerve-wrecking, especially with competition coming from all over.”
“I stayed in the car before the races to calm down and stay in the zone. Winning on home turf is always incredible, especially getting to interact with the crowd and hearing how thrilled they are about Bulawayo bringing home the trophy,” Pragji said.
Pragji, who started racing in 2021, has been involved in motorsport since birth, working alongside his father, Darren on cars in the pits during race days and loading race cars on and off trailers.
At just 15, he started racing after receiving a special dispensation licence to compete on the Zimbabwe National Circuits.
Following his sweet home victory, the champion heads to South Africa for the final round of the Toyota GR Cup and the South African Touring Cars SupaCup class.
“I’m heading to Johannesburg for the final round of the Toyota GR Cup and the South African Touring Cars SupaCup class. I’m excited and ready to take things as they come,” he said.
Pragji appears set to join the ranks of the world’s greatest drivers.
