President Mnangagwa has appointed a tribunal chaired by retired Justice Mafios Cheda to investigate the conduct of Justice Thompson Mabhikwa.

This comes after pressure has been mounting on the Bulawayo-based judge to step down to preserve the integrity and dignity of the bench after he was allegedly involved in an intimate affair with a staff at the High Court.

The President appointed the three member Tribunal, that also includes Harare lawyer Ms Philippa Philips and Mr Chaka Mashoko in accordance with Section 187(3) of the Constitution.
