PRESIDENT Mnangagwa has left Dubai for home following a successful visit during which he attended the World Governments Summit (WGS) and held high-level engagements aimed at courting investors to partner Zimbabwe across various sectors of the economy.
The summit ran under the theme “Shaping Future Governments,” bringing together global leaders, policymakers and industry executives to explore innovative governance models and development pathways.
The President, who was among global leaders invited to the prestigious summit, participated in high-level panel discussions focusing on the future of governance, economic transformation, technological innovation and sustainable development.
On the sidelines of the summit, President Mnangagwa held a series of meetings with business leaders and heads of global corporations, where he presented Zimbabwe as a prime investment destination anchored on political stability, abundant natural resources and investor-friendly reforms being implemented by the Second Republic.
The engagements saw strong expressions of interest from investors in sectors including energy, mining, infrastructure development, logistics, agriculture and renewable energy, in line with Zimbabwe’s drive to accelerate economic growth and industrialisation.
President Mnangagwa also used the platform to strengthen diplomatic and economic ties between Zimbabwe and the United Arab Emirates, one of the country’s key trade and investment partners in the Gulf region.
He was seen off at Al Maktoum International Airport by Cabinet Member and Minister of State in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Shakhboot Bin Nahyan Al Nahyan, Foreign Affairs and International Trade Minister Professor Amon Murwira and Zimbabwe’s Ambassador to the UAE, Mr Isaac Moyo.
