President leaves for energy forum

the roadmap towards a cleaner, safer and sustainable global energy system for the benefit of all nations.
They are also expected to find long-term energy solutions that will consider a variety of other energy sources through the use of innovative technology.
The meeting is being held in line with the United Nations’ goal for countries to have access to sustainable energy.
The UN recognises that access to sustainable energy is of great importance for all countries aspiring for social and economic development.
The meeting is of particular importance to Zimbabwe and other Southern African countries as they are facing electricity supply challenges owing to rising consumption by industry and households.
After the Dubai meeting, the Head of State and Government and Commander-in-Chief of the Zimbabwe Defence Forces will go on a two-day official visit of Singapore.
President Mugabe is expected back home over the weekend.
The President was seen off at the Harare International Airport by Vice President Joice Mujuru, Media, Information and Publicity Minister Webster Shamu, Transport, Communications and Infrastructural Development Minister Nicholas Goche, service chiefs and senior Government officials.
He was accompanied by wife Amai Grace Mugabe, Foreign Affairs Minister Simbarashe Mumbengegwi and some Government officials.
