President Mnangagwa hosts Sables

President Mnangagwa is meeting the national rugby team, the Sables, at State House following their triumph at the Africa Cup in July.

This triumph saw the Sables securing a spot at the 2027 Rugby World Cup, which will be hosted by Australia.

Securing the World Cup spot was a historic feat for the Sables, who last qualified for the global showcase in 1991.

President Mnangagwa availed US$100 000 to the Zimbabwe rugby national team as part of incentives in their quest to qualify for the World Cup.

Last year, the Sables players received US$6 500 each for winning the 2024 edition of the Africa Cup.
