President Mnangagwa launches Legacy Plantations

PRESIDENT Mnangagwa led top Government officials and schoool children in planting 44 trees, a number that signifies the country’s years of self rule, at Murambinda A Primary School ahead of the Children’s Party that he will host today.

The 44 trees were planted under the Legacy Plantations programme that will see 44 000 indigenous and fruit trees being planted across Buhera district as the nation commemorates its 44 years of Independence.

 

The President was accompanied by Vice President Constantino Chiwenga and Cabinet Ministers, among other top several Government officials.

The Children’s Party, to be graced by 3 050 child delegates, is running under the theme “Zimbabwe@44: Unity, Peace and Development Towards Vision 2030.”

The party precedes the Independence Celebrations set to be held at Murambinda B High School tommorrow.

This year’s theme is, “Unity, Peace and Development Towards Vision 2030”.

 

 

Up to 70 000 people are expected to converge at the High School.

 

The commemorations are being held in this part of Manicaland Province, in line with the Second Republic’s devolution thrust and the mantra of leaving no one and no place behind.
