TODAY, President Mnangagwa will officially open the newly renovated and expanded VVIP State Pavilion at the Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport.
The state-of-the-art facility is part of the Government’s broader infrastructure development programme aimed at modernising the country’s aviation sector and improving the travel experience for visiting dignitaries.
It features a luxurious lounge, private meeting rooms, a fine dining restaurant, and other amenities designed to cater to the needs of heads of State, government officials, and other VIP travelers.

The $25 million renovation project was completed earlier this year after 18 months of construction.

Senior Government officials, diplomats, and other dignitaries are expected to attend the ceremony. President Mnangagwa is expected to take a tour of the new facility and deliver a keynote address highlighting its significance for Zimbabwe’s continued development.

The Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport, formerly known as Harare International Airport, has undergone a series of upgrades in recent years, including the expansion of the main terminal building, the construction of a new domestic departures lounge, and the improvement of airside infrastructure. These enhancements are part of the Government’s broader strategy to position Zimbabwe as a regional aviation hub and strengthen the country’s connectivity with the rest of the world.
In addition, the expansion of the RGM International Airport is part of flagship projects under President Mnangagwa’s vision for a modernised and Industrialised Zimbabwe.
