President reassigns three Cabinet ministers

PRESIDENT Mnangagwa has reassigned three Cabinet ministers in a move announced yesterday evening, with the changes taking immediate effect.

Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services Minister, Dr Jenfan Muswere, has been moved to the Ministry of Skills Audit and Development. He replaces Professor Paul Mavima, who has been reassigned to the Ministry of National Housing and Social Amenities.

Dr Zhemu Soda, who was the Minister of National Housing and Social Amenities, is now the Minister of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services.

The reassignments were made in terms of Section 104 (1) of the Constitution of Zimbabwe, which empowers the President to appoint and reassign ministers.

Chief Secretary to the President and Cabinet, Dr Martin Rushwaya, confirmed the changes in a statement.

“In terms of Section 104, subsection (1) of the Constitution of Zimbabwe, His Excellency the President, Cde Dr Emmerson Mnangagwa, has reassigned the under-listed ministers as follows: Honourable Dr Jenfan Muswere as Minister of Skills Audit and Development; Honourable Professor Paul Mavima as Minister of National Housing and Social Amenities and Honourable Dr Zhemu Soda as Minister of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services,” said Dr Rushwaya.
