IN a move that underscores the Second Republic’s commitment to inclusive development, five Zanu PF-affiliated groups in the Midlands Province received a significant boost through the Presidential Empowerment Revolving Fund.

The funding, disbursed in Kwekwe on Tuesday, marks a strategic effort to stimulate economic activity at grassroots level.

The initiative, spearheaded by Presidential Investment Advisor Dr Paul Tungwarara and his team, saw representatives from various affiliates — including Cross-Border Traders for ED, Vendors for ED, Pastors for ED, Children of Zimbabwe Liberation War Veterans Association, and Hairdressers for ED — receive empowerment funds aimed at bolstering their income-generating activities.

“This fund is not a handout; it is a revolving facility meant to benefit many,” emphasised Dr Tungwarara. “Accountability and ethical conduct are essential. To ensure transparency, we will deploy auditors to track how the funds are being used.”

Beneficiaries expressed gratitude and optimism, highlighting how the support would transform their operations and lives.

Vendors for ED national chairperson Cde Samora Chisvo said the support offered will be life-changing.

“As Vendors for ED, our mission is to uplift and empower as many of our fellow citizens as possible, especially those operating in the informal sector who have long been overlooked. We are deeply grateful to His Excellency, President Mnangagwa, for championing this vision of inclusive economic empowerment. We also extend our sincere thanks to Dr Tungwarara, whose unwavering commitment and hands-on approach have brought real hope and opportunity to the vendors.”
