The Buhera community has commended President Mnangagwa for handing over heifers under the Presidential Heifer Scheme meant to empower farmers.

In a statement, Zanu PF secretary for Information and Publicity for Manicaland Province, Cde Oliver Mandipa, confirmed the latest development.

Ninety-seven people benefited in Buhera under the Presidential Heifer Scheme.

Cde Mandipaka said Buhera District was susceptible to droughts and the allocation of heifers under the Presidential Heifers Scheme came at a time when the majority of communal farmers in the area were in dire need of restocking.

The Presidential Heifer Scheme is a welcome development and is a progressive black empowerment programme for farmers in communal areas.

Buhera District expressed its unwavering support for the leadership and stewardship of this nation by President Mnangagwa.

“Despite vilification and falsehoods by both internal and external detractors more so through the social media, the President has indeed distinguished himself by standing resolute in diversity a rare leadership quality” said Cde Mandipaka
