President’s ZBC interview tonight

President Mnangagwa’s interview with the national broadcaster, Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation TV, recorded on Saturday ahead of the country’s 39th Independence commemorations, will be aired tonight.

Among other issues, President Mnangagwa speaks on Gukurahundi, corruption and his relationship with former president Robert Mugabe.

On Gukurahundi, President Mnangagwa said debate on the issue should have started a long time ago and resolution of some of the issues finalised back then.

The Head of State challenged the nation to open up discussions on the subject, which was taboo in the previous era.

On corruption President Mnangagwa says Zimbabweans should untiringly fight corruption as it is currently deep-seated in most State institutions such as the police, National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) and the Judiciary.
