PRINCE Edward School coach Shaun De Souza is optimistic that his team will make a huge impression at the Rugby Invitational tournament in Namibia this weekend.
The team left the country on Monday for the tourney.
Both the Prince Edward Under-15 and the Under-19 sides have been put in Pool A.
“We have mixed up the team a bit with few youngsters to gain experience for the future and we will try out new combinations in the loose trio, centre and back three.
“The boys are on a high after their fine performance at the Sevens last week and I am hoping that they will put up a good show,” said De Souza.
The Prince Edward technical team of Robbie Durant, Shaun De Souza and Sebastian Garikai will have to put the puzzle together mixing the seven players in the 15s set-up.
DeSouza said his teams’ victory at the Zimbabwe invitation tournament at Harare Sports Club was a good start for them this season.
The Tigers won all their fixtures and topped the schools team event.
In their first match in their pool the Tigers beat Helenic School 12-7 en-route to winning five more games.
In their last match, the beat Eaglesvale 31-24 in an explosive tie.
“The boys lifted themselves and played as a team till the final whistle, we retained possession from kick off,” said De Souza.
“I was very proud of the Tigers’ performance and becoming the champions in the schools section.”
