Prioritise parent-teacher consultation days

CONSULTATION days are an important platform for parents to engage with their children’s teachers.

They provide valuable insights into what a child needs to improve their performance in schoolwork.

In cases where a child is already excelling, teachers share tips on how to maintain high standards.

Both parents and teachers have a duty to ensure learners succeed in the classroom. A teacher may notice something the parent misses at home, or vice versa, making close collaboration essential for exchanging notes and ensuring the learner’s betterment.  Against this background, all parents should prioritise this special day.

The event typically starts in the morning and ends around lunchtime.

When we host our event, ushers at the front gate provide forms for parents to fill in their details and share information about the areas they are supposed to visit during the consultation period.

Facilitators then meet with parents to share information. The entire process is unbiased and dedicated to fair, constructive commentary. At our school, consultation day is held every term, and it is highly valued by parents, teachers and learners alike.
