FORMER University of Zimbabwe and Zimbabwe Open University lecturer Professor Jameson Kurasha has died.
He was the widower of former ZOU Vice Chancellor Professor Primrose Kurasha.
He died at Parirenyatwa Hospital in Harare after battling kidney ailments and had been on dialysis for a while.
He is survived by two children, Flora Marvelous Nyasha and Primrose Egnator Ruvarashe.
Prof Kurasha will be buried on Thursday at Glen Forest Memorial Park where his wife was laid to rest.
In 1973, Prof Kurasha attended Cliff College where he obtained a certificate in Biblical Theology and Evangelism, then a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) Philosophy University of York (1975-1978).
Between 1978 and 1979, he graduated with a Certificate in Education (Religious Education and European History) from the University of Lancaster (St Martins College of Education), between 1981 and 1985, he pursued a PhD in Philosophy with Georgetown University and between 1992 and 1994, he was at the University of Zimbabwe for the Religious Studies (Christian Theology) degree.
Prof Kurasha worked for various organisations and institutions worldwide and attended international conferences and guest lectures.
Between 1986 and 2005, he also worked at the University of Zimbabwe as a senior lecturer in Philosophy and as UZ chairman in the department of Religious Studies, Classics and Philosophy, between 1995 and 1999 and 2002 to 2005.
