Information, Media and Broadcasting Services Minister Professor Jonathan Moyo yesterday met Iranian ambassador to Zimbabwe Mr Mohammad Amin Nejad in Harare to explore ways of strengthening bilateral relations that exist between the two countries.
Prof Moyo was accompanied by his deputy Cde Supa Mandiwanzira and Agriculture, Mechanisation and Irrigation Development Minister Joseph Made.

Speaking after the meeting, Ambassador Nejad said Zimbabwe and Iran already had multiple cooperation agreements that needed to be pursued.

He said the two countries were coming out of crucial elections and must strengthen their political and economic relations.
Zimbabwe held its harmonised elections in July this year, a month after Iranians voted for a new president.

“We discussed about our cooperation and the perspective of one area which is very positive. We had very important elections and now we can continue with our relations in many areas including the important area of media and information,” said Ambassador Nejad.
He said it was important for the two countries to establish close contacts.
