THE Minister of Higher and Tertiary Education, Science and Technology Development Professor Jonathan Moyo has added his voice to a growing list of football followers perplexed by the poor performance of ailing Bulawayo giants Highlanders. Bosso have become so ordinary lately that most Premier League teams wish they could face them every weekend for cheap points.

Writing on microblogging site Twitter after Bosso had surrendered three points to Harare City following a 0-1 loss to Harare City in the capital on Saturday, the minister said Highlanders were no longer high or landing. “What’s going on at Highlanders bakithi? It’s no longer High and it no longer Lands. Hayibo!” he posted.

The defeat by Harare City was Highlanders’ fourth in a row following losses to Chicken Inn, Whawha and FC Platinum. Bosso sit 10th on the table with a paltry 25 points from 22 games; a massive 21 points behind leaders Chicken Inn, but just four points above the drop zone. This could be reduced to just a point if they lose to Flame Lily on Thursday and Tsholotsho, ZPC Kariba and Buffaloes win.

Highlanders, Flame Lily, Tsholotsho and ZPC Kariba have all lost nine matches while Buffaloes have eight losses.
