Profeeds discontinues supplies

HARARE – ProGroup’s stock-feed manufacturing subsidiary, Profeeds has said it is discontinuing supply of all feed products to agents and distributors with immediate effect.
Profeeds retail executive Knox Mupaya told the Herald Business that the company has suspended the supply of all feed products to third parties which are agents or distributors as the company is failing to meet demand for the feed.
“We will be discontinuing supply of all feed product to agents or distributors effective immediately,” said Mr Mupaya.
“Due to the prevailing economic conditions and difficulties faced in sourcing adequate raw materials, we are not able to meet demand to best to serve our customers.”
The company has however said it is working to bring back normalcy in its operations.
“We are working across the value chain to improve supply of raw materials and availability of finished products,” said Mr Mapaya.
The company is still operating at full capacity despite challenges in accessing foreign currency for raw materials.
The feed products will only be available at Profeeds retail outlets across the country.
Profeeds was established in 2007 as a stock-feed manufacturing plant.
It has the biggest chicken-feed in the country and has partnered up with Zimbabwe’s largest chicken producers to target small-to-medium chicken farmers.
