The upcoming Sunset October Beer Festival set for Sunset Arena on October 24 and 25 will present a galore of promotions to enhance fun among imbibers. The promotions will mainly be hinged on beer prices that are set to be slashed at the festival with drinkers getting their favourite brands for as little as 20cents per unit or 50cents per pint.

The organisers said they would also unveil tickets for unlimited beer supply for $5 per head throughout the two-day festival.

“The festival is about fun. It is not much of a commercial event but a time to bring people together to have fun.  We will have various promotions on offer so that there is fun for everyone. Imbibers will have a good time because beer prices will be slashed,” said one of the organisers.

Sunset Arena is the new venue at Guard Alert Training Ground near City Sports Centre.

The venue hosted one of the closing gigs of the Harare Agricultural show.

Besides promotions, the Sunset October Beer Festival is expected to feature an array of activities that include music performances, exhibitions and beer tasting competitions among others.

Organisers of the event said they had engaged manufacturers of various beer brands to present their products at an exhibition that promises to be fun-filled.

“This is an event meant to provide exciting outdoor entertainment this summer.  The shows will just complement a programme that is mainly meant to give beer drinkers an opportunity to mix, mingle and have fun,” said the organisers.

“We want to utilise the new venue because we realised it is good for outdoor entertainment after it hosted its inaugural event, the show shut-down gig.

A senior music critic in the country suggested we name it Sunset Arena because it is a place that can host afternoon and night shows, especially this summer.”
