A better fielding display by the Lady Chevrons restricted Proteas Women to a chasable 164/6 score in the final T20 International at Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo on Saturday.

After Proteas Women captain Laura won the toss and elected to bat, it was expected that the visitors were going to dominate with the bat as in the previous four matches.

However, Zimbabwe were more disciplined and were either restricting Proteas Women to singles and not many boundaries, or they were taking wickets at crucial intervals.

Pick of the bowlers was Michelle Mavunga, who took three wickets in her four overs, although conceding 46 runs.

For South Africa, there were no 50s or 100s, but their highest run-scorer was Kayla Reyneke, who scored 34 runs, comprising three fours.

The highlight of the day was the blinding catch by Kehlis Ndhlovu at deep square to dismiss the dangerous Anneke Bosch, who was on 34.

Fall of wickets

1-37 (Faye Tunnicliffe, 3.5 ov), 2-69 (Karabo Meso, 7.6 ov), 3-69 (Miane Smit, 8.2 ov), 4-79 (Laura Wolvaardt, 10.3 ov), 5-154 (Anneke Bosch, 19.3 ov), 6-164 (Annerie Dercksen, 19.6 ov)
