money.
The charismatic 23-year-old lad showed why he is no push-over during the introduction task held last Thursday.
“I just want to say two things firstly, I am more African than you all. Never judge a person by their skin colour and, secondly, Zimbabwe is misunderstood and don’t listen to what the media says about it,” he said to applause from the other housemates.
Many viewers believe that Wendall is carrying over from where Munyaradzi Chidzonga, Zimbabwe’s housemate in Big Brother All Stars season five, left off.
Draping the Zimbabwean flag around his waist and topless, Wendall sent the other housemates into wild cheers when he dispelled any doubts regarding is patriotism.
“I wouldn’t live anywhere else outside because (Zimbabwe) is a beautiful country,” he said just before the time-up buzz from Big Brother.
Wendall has not only endeared himself with other housemates but fans too across Africa, who send their messages on the strap line praising the Zimbabwean adrenaline junkie.
Also outstanding during the task was Vimbai Mutinhiri, another Zimbabwean representative in the house.
The model grabbed the bull by the horns when she told the other housemates that she was in the house to represent “Brand Zimbabwe”.
Vimbai said she was an ambassador not only for Zimbabwe but for Africa at large.
So fluent was Vimbai that she got cheers when she described Zimbabwe as a world of wonders.
Elsewhere, strappers have described the new Big Brother house as kindergarten saying the bright and bold colours of pink, green and purple resembled a pre-school.
However, M-Net defended the new design as cheerful and a celebration of colour.
“The house is playful, artistic and eclectic. It’s a showcase for pop culture, filled with interesting contrasts and dynamic wall art while remaining a light-filled space that is welcoming and warm. “The house is best described as friendly and fashionable, created to offer real comfort and great fun to the housemates.”
Including two bedrooms, a long kitchen, a storeroom, an open plan living room plus a large garden evergreen with artificial grass and two separate seating areas, the Big Brother house also includes a large bathroom.
Most importantly, the Diary Room (now called the Chat Room) is back at the heart of things where housemates will spend time talking directly to Biggie.
Big Brother Amplified started showing on DStv channel 198 on May 1.
The series is available 24/7 to DStv Premium, Compact Plus and Compact subscribers.
The series is headline by Coca-Cola and produced for M-Net by Endemol South Africa.
